GENESEO – A little rain didn’t dampen spirits at the Geneseo Merchants Association (GMA)’s wine stroll on Friday.
Over 300 people bought tickets for the stroll.
“We love doing these events to promote what an amazing community we have, loaded with incredible shops and eateries on historic Main Street,” said GMA Vice Chair and co-founder Spring Morrow, who works for Remax Hometown Choice. “It’s a truly beautiful place with beautiful people.”
College students turned out in force for this year’s stroll. Wall-to-wall crowds packed the Big Tree Inn, Art Smart Studio, Crickets Coffee Company, Honeygirl Gourmet, Touch of Grace, Sundance Books, David Mann Jewelers, Envy, Not Dot Shop, and Valley Liquor Shop.
A total of 11 local wineries and distilleries came from across the Finger Lakes and Western New York. They are Honeoye Falls Distillery, Black Willow Winery, Old Stump Blower Ciderworks, Shoreacre Wines LLC, Victorianbourg Wine Estate, Merritt Estate Winery, Deer Run Winery, Lakewood Vineyards, Winery at Marjim Manor, Zugibe Vineyards and Black Button Distillery. An interactive map of wineries and distilleries can be accessed here.
Strollers received a special stemless wine glass.
Another wine stroll is slated for August 12, coordinating with a concert by SUNY Geneseo’s Finger Lakes Opera.
A portion of proceeds from this event will benefit Chances and Changes, a local non-profit organization that serves victims of domestic violence in Livingston County.
