GENESEO — In varsity volleyball action, the Geneseo Lady Devils were able to defeat the Cal-Mum Lady Raiders in straight sets, 25-14, 25-23, 25-16, to move to 2-0 on the season.
For the Lady Devils, both senior Maggie Wheeler, 14 assists, and junior Rachael Nicholls, 5 kills and 5 digs, came up big in the victory.
“This game came down to unforced errors and missed serves,” Lady Devils head coach Chris Butera said. “We had a few less unforced errors and a few less missed serves. Both teams came out hitting hard and it was a fun match. I thought we played well for an early season match and hopefully continue to improve the rest of the season.”
Geneseo (2-0) next travels to Avon on Tuesday.
