GENESEO— The Geneseo Village Board made a motion to partner with the Town of Geneseo in their application for the 2018 Urban and Community Forestry Grant.
The partnership not only strengthens the town’s application, but also could lead to the creation of a joint Parks Committee between the town and village.
“The purpose of [a joint Parks Committee] would be to share information, but also look for efficiencies that we could use,” said town council member Patti LaVigne. “There’s some creative things that we can do, looking at these resources together that would benefit both the town and the village.”
Mayor Margret Duff was very supportive of the partnership, particularly the joint Parks Committee.
“Patti and I have talked about the parks and recreation, especially over the last three or four years,” said Duff. “Having some form of joint Parks and Recreation Committee as a starting point would be a very good idea.”
