GENESEO — The Geneseo VFW Post 5005 and American Legion Post 271 will be selling holiday trees at the Geneseo Central School bus garage starting on Friday at 2 p.m.
The tree sale is a fundraiser for the VFW and legion and helps fund the groups outreach services for veterans.
“The tree sale is a great fundraiser for us,” said Roger Johnson. “The holiday tree should be truly special, and buying one that helps support local veterans is the way to go.”
According to Post Commander, Tom Dunlavey, the VFW sells out its trees nearly every year.
“We have a great variety and price range,” said Dunlavey. “We love talking with the families about our military service and we are always looking for new members into the VFW and Legion.”
The organizations have also started a local Facebook page in an effort to reach out to younger veterans.
People can pick out their trees on weekdays from 2-7 p.m. or on weekends from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
