GENESEO — The Geneseo Town Board voted to approve a local law amending a section of the Code of the Town of Geneseo, which clears up language regarding the limitations on the effective time periods for site plan approvals.
Under the new local law, a final site plan approval by the Planning Board will be valid for one year, and the approval will become null and void if a building permit has not been issued, or if construction has not commenced within one year of the date of approval.
Applicants may submit a written application to extend their site plan approval as long as it is within a year. The application must state why the applicant needs an extension. The Planning Board may grant or deny extensions. If the application is denied, the Board will provide a written explanation.
The local law will take effect immediately upon filing with the New York State Secretary of State.
