GENESEO— Both the Town and Village Boards of Trustees for Geneseo have drafted letters to the New York State Department of Transportation regarding the implementation of a four-way stop at North and Main Street.
The biggest issue that the village and town have with the plans for the intersection is the lack of communication from the state.
Unable to find marketplace offers.
“No one got input from the village, especially our emergency personnel and street personnel,” said Geneseo Mayor Margret Duff at the Village Board meeting. “There are a lot of people who are opposed to this who never got a chance to give any input.”
The village board of trustees also said that a four-way stop would likely cause more congestion, particularly for drivers attempting to leave the county parking lot.
A possible solution to the issue would be to put a full traffic light at the intersection, but neither the town or the village have the authority to do so.
