GENESEO — The summer festival is in full swing with planes, bears, bounce houses, and hula hoop contests. Tonight is the celebrated Skycoaster concert from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the village park.
A new event this year was the hula hoop contest sponsored by the lovable boutique, Touch of Grayce. There were three different age groups as youngsters battled it out in front of the Riviera Theater on Center Street.
“It’s a fun thing for kids to do and encourage community,” said Rose Castor, 21, who works at Touch of Grayce. “It wasn’t really about a winner and loser but more about bringing everyone together.”
Over 15 kids participated in the contest but parents had just as much fun as everyone enjoyed the entertainment.
Tomorrow the airshow continues during the day. There will be a Rotary pancake breakfast at the Village park. Sidewalk sales and the airshow will continue until 4 p.m.
