GENESEO – The Rotary Club of Geneseo hosted its annual pasta dinner this Tuesday at Geneseo Central School’s cafeteria, a tradition held every Shrove Tuesday that has been around for over 50 years.
The annual pasta dinner fundraiser has recently been accompanied by a raffle drawing which, this year, includes prizes such as flat screen televisions, pc tablets, and gift certificates to local establishments.
“Everything we do here goes back to the community with our various projects, and we certainly appreciate the community’s support,” said rotary member Stephen Wiener.
Wiener has been a member of the rotary club since 1987 and was a former president of the club.
“Four years ago we started doing the raffle in conjunction with this dinner, and that’s been a popular fundraiser too,” Wiener stated. “Between that and the dinner we make maybe a couple thousand dollars.”
