A Geneseo resident, Adrian M. Alexander, 22, was arrested by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department recently for assault related to events which occurred on or before July 9 of this year.

According to the Livingston County Sheriff’s department, they were called to the victim’s home in the village of Geneseo on July 9. The victim reported that for about the two days prior, Alexander had been abusive in several incidents, kicking and hitting the victim, and, at one point, forcibly cutting his hair with a knife, He also threatened to stab and kill the victim, all while having a knife on him, and while an active Refrain-From-Order of Protection was in effect against Alexander, protecting the victim, making this a felony assault.
Alexander was arrested and charged with felony Criminal Contempt in the First Degree, felony Aggravated Family Offense, Menacing in the Second Degree, and Harassment in the Second Degree. Alexander was transported and turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention.
The District Attorney’s Office was contacted in regard to bail due to the felony level charges. It was recommended Alexander be held on $7,500 cash or $15,000 bond. Alexander was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Justice Harris. The Judge committed Alexander to the custody of the Sheriff and remanded him on $7,500 cash or $2,500 unsecured bond.
The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented Alexander at the court arraignment for his defense. The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was notified but did not appear to represent the people.
