Bailey was the sole nominee for a seat vacated by the retirement of former Councilman Jerry Wrubel.
“Transparency, evaluating Return on Investment along with my vast knowledge in Human Resources and Customer Service are some of the reasons why I have chosen to run for Town Board,” said Bailey. “I believe in a high level of transparency within our Public Offices. I will be serving you the taxpayer and community and you have my commitment to ensure that we are transparent in all that we do. If I am elected I will be representing you and promise to evaluate programs, and decisions that are made with a realistic return on investment mentality. I believe that ‘Our People’ are our biggest assets, this includes not only our employees but you the taxpayer and ultimate consumer.”
There are still two years left in Wrubel’s term. Bailey will run to serve the rest of this two-year term and then run again in 2019.
An earlier caucus designated incumbent Councilperson Patti Lavigne and former Town Code Enforcement Officer Ron Maxwell as candidates for Town Council.
Incumbent Councilperson Roberta Irwin did not seek the Republican nod Tuesday night.
