Geneseo Republican Caucus Results: Will Wadsworth Remains Republicam Choice for Geneseo Town Supervisor

After a close vote, Will Wadsworth was voted in to remain the Republican choice for Geneseo Town Supervisor at the Geneseo Republican Caucus on Tuesday night. Wadsworth secured 125 of the of the total 218 votes while contender Town Councilman Ron Maxwell came close with a total of 95.
“I feel great about tonight, we worked hard to get people here,” said Wadsworth, after securing the caucus majority vote. “We knew we had a great challenger, we knew Ron was out there doing work. I certainly welcomed anybody to come and try for this job, it’s a great job and it’s an honor to serve,” said Wadsworth. “I feel very thankful that the Republicans of Geneseo came out and voted tonight. A caucus is a wild thing, you never know who is going to come.” he said.
“You talk to a lot of people and encourage them to come” Wadsworth continued, “.They say they will and some do and some don’t. We talked to about 500 people and 218 showed up. I want to hand it to Ron, 95 votes is a pretty close vote.”
Matt Griffo and Andrea Bailey, current councilmen for the Geneseo Town Board ran unopposed. Griffo was first elected to the board in 2015 while Bailey was voted in during the 2017 election to fill the vacated term of Jerry Wrubel. Both Councilman will be seeking re-election of four year terms in the scheduled general election on November 5.
