GENESEO – A Leicester man decided to take his chances in the woods by Mount Morris Road on Wednesday when a police officer pulled him over and found that he had a bad license.
According to Geneseo Police Chief Eric Osganian, Ryan Mosher, 23, was arrested for felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the First Degree, misdemeanor False Personation, misdemeanor Resisting Arrest, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation, Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, an infraction, and Unlicensed Operation.
A Geneseo Police Officer pulled Mosher over for allegedly driving with a suspended license. Mosher allegedly gave the officer a false name and fled the scene on foot. He was apprehended by Officer Benjamin Swanson after a foot chase into the woods along Mount Morris Road near its intersection with Mary Jemison Drive.
Mosher complained of a leg injury after the chase and was transported to Noyes hospital.
The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office assisted on scene with a drug recognition evaluation by a Drug Recognition Expert, who alleged that Mosher was under the influence of a drug.
Mosher’s license expired in 2013 and he currently has 14 suspensions for Failure to Pay Fine and Failure to Answer a Summons. Geneseo Village Justice Thomas Bushnell arraigned Mosher and remanded him to the Livingston County Jail on $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
He will appear in court at a later date for further proceedings.
