GENESEO – The Geneseo Police Department released the following activity report to local media.
Geneseo Police Chief Eric Osganian said that the activity reports are intended to give local residents a direct glimpse into the day-to-day activities of the Geneseo Police Department.
“We want residents to know what our officers are doing in their community,” said Osganian. “These days, we think it’s important that people get to see what the police do in local neighborhoods besides investigating crimes and making arrests, from getting dogs out of hot cars at Walmart to responding to medical emergencies with EMS to visiting someone’s house because they think something doesn’t feel right.”
On Aug. 25, GPD responded to Franklin Street for the report of a male walking with a rifle. Upon investigating the incident it was found that the rifle was a BB gun. The weapon was not discharged.
On Aug. 25, GPD investigated a two car accident on Lakeville Road.
On Aug. 26, GPD responded to South Hill Apartments for a check the welfare call.
On Aug. 26, GPD responded to Brookside Apartments for a larceny of money.
On Aug. 26, GPD responded to East South Street for a two car motor vehicle accident.
On Aug. 27, GPD, along with Geneseo Ambulance and Fire Department responded to 4235 Veteran Drive for a two car motor vehicle accident with injuries.
On Aug. 27, GPD received a report of a stolen sign from Summit Family Dental Care on Lakeville Road. If anyone has information on the whereabouts of the sign, please contact the Geneseo Police department at 243-2420 or 243-7100.
