SCHENECTADY — A Village of Geneseo Police Department Officer received an award by multiple New York State Agencies for his work in raising awareness on the importance of highway safety and impaired driving issues.
In the May 2nd ceremony Officer Ben Swanson was recognized by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), the New York STOP DWI Foundation, the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, and the Division of Criminal Justice Services for his work involving Driving While Intoxicated.

“I’m honored to receive this award,” stated Swanson. “We’ve seen an increase in DWI drug and alcohol arrests and I just want to do my part in keeping our roads safe.”
The event supports raising awareness about the critical importance of highway safety and impaired driving issues. The Geneseo Police Department’s DWI efforts are supported by the Livingston County STOP-DWI Program.
