GENESEO – The Genseo Merchants Association is cooking up several delectable additions to this year’s ChristmaSing festival on Main Street, including a wine walk and holiday cookie walk.
According to a press release from the Geneseo Merchants Association, the Dec. 5 ChristmaSing will for the first time ever include a Holiday Cookie Walk from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., where 15 stops along Main Street will feature different tasty cookies. The Holiday Wine Walk will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Each attendee will receive a commemorative stemless wine glass etched with the bear fountain’s iconic Emmeline the bear. There will be seven wine tastings at a variety of Main Street locations.
As always, several Main Street businesses will be hosting open houses from noon to 6 p.m., offering various treats and special sales, with gift ideas galore. You can keep tabs on the ChristmaSing event schedule at the Geneseo Merchants Association Facebook page here.
Tickets for the cookie walk are $5, and tickets for the wine walk are $15. Tickets for the cookie walk are available online here and for the wine walk here. Tickets for both are also available at Image Empire, Crickets Coffee, Valley Liquor Shop, and Genesee Valley Florist on Main Street.
Both the cookie walk and the wine walk offer an opportunity to enter to win prizes valued at over $350.
The Not Dot Shop at 127 Main Street will be serving s’mores from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Geneseo Riviera will be showing the movie Scrooge for $5, and at 7 p.m. will be present An Evening of The Blues and Other Hues jazz concert for $15.
Free sleigh rides will run from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be visiting Geneseo shops from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Photo ops with Santa at the Wadsworth Homestead will be from noon to 3 p.m. for $10.
The annual ‘Lighting of the Trees’ ceremony will be 6 p.m. in the Village Park, to be followed by the classic Geneseo ChristmaSing caroling procession down Main Street.
After caroling, there will be a free opportunity to meet and take photos with Mr. and Mrs. Claus at Touch of Grayce, and a holiday reception with warm drinks and holiday treats courtesy of the Big Tree Inn.
Festival attendees can also purchase gift packs with commemorative etched stemless wine glasses, which help support the Geneseo Merchants Association. A 4-pack set of wine glasses is $20 or $30 for two packs.
