GENESEO – The Geneseo Merchant’s Association (GMA) is determined to make this year’s wine and brew stroll the best yet, with more concurrent events in the Village than ever.
According to Spring Morrow and Angel Berry, co-founders of GMA, the wine stroll is moving forward at full steam for Aug. 7, with several featured shows and a silent art auction within easy walking distance from Main Street.
“GMA is happy to announce that this year’s wine and brew stroll is poised to be the best yet,” said Morrow, Vice Chair of GMA and sales agent at REMAX Hometown Choice. “Our organization is about uniting. We are as proud as ever of the resilience of our merchants and community.”
Featured wineries are Lakewood Vineyards, who will be at Genesee Valley Florist; Raymour Estate Cellars Winery, who will be at Body & Face by Kristin; Deer Run Winery, who will be at Sweet Arts Bakery; Marjim Manor, who will be at Image Empire Salon; Merritt Winery, who will be at the Not Dot Shop; Lost Borough, who will be at 82 Main Street; Amber Lantern Brewery, who will be at Sundance Books; and Genesee Valley Liquor, who will pour their own selection.
Tickets are available for $20 at Sweet Arts Bakery in Geneseo, Valley Liquor Shop, and Image Empire Salon, or online here. A portion of the proceeds will be allocated to GMA’s fellow business owners who suffered losses from last Wednesday’s fire.
An unprecedented partnership between the GMA and the Genesee Valley Conservancy will make possible a silent art auction from 4 to 7 p.m. featuring work by local painters, photographers, sculptors and potters at several participating businesses. Pieces will range from $30 to $2,500.
Proceeds from the auction will help support the management of the John Chanler Island Preserve and the Indian Fort Nature Preserve, located in the Village and Town of Geneseo, respectively.
As always, there will be a free concert at the Village Park after the stroll, this year featuring Rochester native Teresa Wilcox. You can hear her music here.
