GENESEO – Geneseo’s Main Street is being resurfaced as the final phase for the Main Street water and sewer main replacement and repair project.
Traffic is reduced to one lane while the paving project is going on, with village workers directing traffic.
The work is being done by Suit-Kote out of Cortland by Livingston County bid instead of using Nardozzi Paving, who handled the Main Street project. This reduced the paving cost to $70,000 from about $140,000.
Paving will begin Monday June 13.
The project, which broke ground in June 2015 by Nardozzi Paving, had its fair share of setbacks but also brought excitement and wonder to the community with the unearthing of the historic Underground Railroad tunnel.
