GENESEO — After receiving 18 applications for the New York Main Street Grant for improvements to Geneseo’s Main Street, the grant committee has whittled the list down to 12 commercial and residential applicants, who will receive part of the $340,000 grant.
The New York Main Street Grant program is designed to stimulate economic recovery through façade enhancements, commercial renovations on the first floor, and creation or enhancement of residential units on second and third floors.
To determine who got part of the grant, the committee ranked applicants based on the grant criteria. Some projects will receive partial funding.
The committee’s recommendations are being looked at by the County Planning Board and will return to the Village Board on June 4 for a public announcement of which applicants will receive funds from the grant.
