GENESEO — Tonight in volleyball, the Lady Blue Devils confidently won all three sets to defeat Keshequa.
The first set was very even throughout and Geneseo fought for a final score of 25 to 22. The Devils took their momentum and ran with it, winning the next set 25-9. In the last set, Keshequa came back focused but was unable to sufficiently defend Geneseo’s solid serves and smart ball handling.
Geneseo’s coach Chris Butera said, “At times we let their serving dictate our play and what we were doing but when we took a step back and settled down, we were able to control the tempo and the pace for most of the game. They played really good defense and fought back, but we were able to find a way in the end and put down more balls than they did and that proved to be the difference.”
Geneseo will compete at the HAC Tournament tomorrow morning beginning at 9 am. Keshequa will travel to York on Tuesday with varsity play starting around 6 pm.
