GENESEO – Patti LaVigne and Ron Maxwell won Republican designation in the race for Town Council Thursday night.
LaVigne won 119 votes and Maxwell won 114.
Opponents Roberta Irwin and Renee Book won 69 and 75 votes, respectively.
Nearly 200 people showed up to vote in Thursday night’s caucus.
LaVigne and Irwin are incumbent Town Council members.
Maxwell is the former Town/Village Code Enforcement Officer.
Renee Book is a first-time candidate for public office.
The election is Nov. 7.
At Thursday’s caucus, incumbent Justice Kathleen Houston was the sole nominee for Town Justice.
