Alex Davis, 20, was discovered in his PHIG Fraternity house dead back in May of 2014 and until now the cause of death had yet to be released. Now the Monroe County Medical Examiner Office released that the cause of death was a result of the combined effects of cocaine and fentanyl.
According to Geneseo Police Officials they have had concerns and run ins with the fraternity for years including executing a search warrant at the house, located at 72 Center Street in 2011 where multiple residents were charged with drug related offenses. The PHIG fraternity or Phi Sigma Xi is an officially recognized fraternity by SUNY Geneseo.
According to experts mixing fentanyl with street-sold heroin or cocaine markedly amplifies their potency and potential dangers. Effects include: euphoria, drowsiness/respiratory depression and arrest, nausea, confusion, constipation, sedation, unconsciousness, coma, tolerance, and addiction.
