GENESEO — The Geneseo Fire and Ambulance Corp is in search of new volunteers interested in helping others inter time of need.
“There is a nationwide decline in emergency service volunteers. Livingston County communities are not immune from the trend,” Chief Andrew Chanler stated. “We are doing our best to stay ahead of the issue.”
Although the training is extensive, the recruitment process has been revamped, so potential volunteers are fully aware of the commitment before they begin putting their time and energy into it.
There’s hope that high school seniors, college freshmen, and other residents who will be in the area for a considerable amount of time will join, however, all are welcome to apply.
Mayor Margaret Duff brought the issue to the attention of the Board during Monday nights board meeting.
