GENESEO – Geneseo’s Fire Department gained permission from the Village Board of Trustees on Monday to purchase a new ambulance for its fleet.
Second Assistant Fire Chief Steve Zabrocki said at Monday’s Village Board Meeting that the Fire Department has its eye on a particular 2015 ambulance from the North Central EMS Cooperative in Minnesota.
“It’s going to be a 2015 chassis,” said Zabrocki, “There will be no more 2014 chassis by then. It will be literally brand new.”
According to the Village Board, it looks like purchasing through this co-op will be a lot cheaper than the last ambulance the Fire Department purchased, in 2012.
According to Zabrocki, the Fire Department could save tens of thousands by purchasing from North Central EMS.
