GENESEO — The Geneseo Village building now offers a car charging station, which could propel the Village closer to qualifying for energy efficiency grants.
The Clean Energy Communities, represented by David L. Keefe, has gifted Geneseo with the charging station.
Unable to find marketplace offers.
“This will be the first charging station in Geneseo that is accessible to the public,” said Mayor Richard Hatheway. “It will help bring more people into the village.”
The charging station can charge two vehicles at once and is free to the public.
This is one of three steps Geneseo has taken to become a ‘clean energy community’ according to a list made by The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) that could qualify the Village for clean energy grants.
“We have now marked off three out of 10 items on the list,” said Hatheway. “We are in the process of marking off two more and when we do we can apply for more grants.”
