GENESEO – Several local wineries and distilleries will set up shop in Main Street businesses for next Friday’s May Day wine stroll.
According to a press release from Caroline Wilson of the Livingston County Downtown Coordinator’s Office, the 2016 wine stroll will be May 6 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Geneseo’s Historic District of Main Street.
“This year’s May Day Wine Stroll will be the perfect opportunity to experience local wine and spirits from the Finger Lakes region, explore the historic Geneseo Main Street and enjoy good wine with friends and family,” said Wilson.
The eleven wineries and distilleries participating in the 2016 wine stroll are: Shoreacre Wines, Merritt Estate Winery, Zugibe Vineyards, Black Button Distillery, The Winery at Marjim Manor, Victorianborg Wine Estate, Lakewood Vineyards, Deer Run Winery, Old Stump Blower, Black Willow Winery and Honeoye Falls Distiller.
These vendors will set up tastings at the Big Tree Inn, ArtSmart Studio, LLC, Cricket’s Coffee Company, Honeygirl Gourmet, Touch of Grayce, Sundance Books, David Mann Jewelers, Envy Salon & Spa, The Not Dot Shop and Valley Liquor Shop.
Participants in the May Day Wine Stroll will receive a complimentary wine glass and a map that includes labeled stops along the stroll.
Tickets are available for $15 at Cricket’s Coffee, David Mann Jewelers, Image Empire, Genesee Valley Florist, Not Dot Shop, Touch of Grayce and Valley Liquor Shop.
Tickets purchased the day of the event are $20 but usually sell out beforehand.
Registration will be at the Big Tree Inn. There will also be a raffle for a door prize valued at over $200, which participants can enter by submitting their ticket stub to B&D Art and Framing. In addition, participants will receive 10% off any purchase from a participating winery at Valley Liquor Shop.
A portion of proceeds from this event will benefit Chances and Changes, a local non-profit organization that serves victims of domestic violence in Livingston County.
