GENESEO – The following is adapted from an obituary published by Rector Hicks Funeral Home.
Marsha R. Avery, 73, of Northview Dr. in Geneseo, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016 at her residence.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank in 2001.
She is survived by her daughter, Heather Chiara of Geneseo; Eric Avery of Portland, Oregon, grandson; Jackson Chiara, brother; David (Betty) Barnes of Fairport; and many dear friends.
Marsha was born Nov. 12, 1942 in Salamanca, NY the daughter of LaRue and Martha Thompson Barnes. She was a Graduate of Salamanca High School and earned her Bachelor’s Degree from SUNY Geneseo.
Marsha was a retired Teacher for the Inner-city Youth of Rochester and the Bookkeeper for the Idle Hour in Geneseo. Her daughter Heather now owns and operates ‘The Idle.’
Friends may call Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo with a Celebration of Marsha’s Life immediately following visitation at the Idle Hour, 5 Center St. in Geneseo. Funeral Services will be Private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Temple Hill Cemetery in Geneseo.
