GENESEO — The Genesee Valley Conservancy is planning a volunteer day to remove the invasive parsnip plants from the John W. Chanler Island Preserve.
The Volunteer day will take place Thursday July 12, from 6:30 a.m. until 9 a.m.
“The plants are forming seeds so it is critical that we kill them this week,” said the Gensee Valley Conservancy in an email to the Genesee Sun.
The Conservancy recommends that volunteers wear long sleeves and long pants. Gloves and shovels will be provided, along with training on how to properly remove the plants.
