LIVINGSTON COUNTY – The Genesee Country Village and Museum (GCV&M) has announced more of its lineup of shows and events for 2015, including an antique show,
An Antique Show Preview Party will be held on the Friday, April 17, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., granting visitors an early opportunity to plan ahead to shop for amazing antiques. You can get an exclusive look at the extensive collection of special pieces available for sale while enjoying delicious hors d’oevres, wine, and beer.
Included with the admission charge to the event, at 7 p.m. Peter Wisbey, GCVM’s Curator of Collections, will give an insider’s look at new additions to the museums extensive coverlet collection. Tickets are $30, and $25 for members. Tickets also include free admission to Saturday’s show.
On August 1 and 2, actress Hersha Parady, who played Alice Garvey on Little House on the Prairie, and illustrator of My First Little House Renee Graef will be visiting GCV&M to meet and give talks to visitors.
Graef is an award-winning illustrator of more than 70 books for children, including the My First Little House series, the Little House Chapter Books and the “Kirsten” American Girl books. In addition, she served as creative consultant for five years, art directing many of the books in the Little House program.
The popular Hosmer Inn Dinner dates have been set for both Spring and Fall on the dates May 16, May 17, May 24, September 19, and September 20. Those who are planning on attending are encouraged to sign up soon. The inn will serve up to 15 four-course traditional tavern meals each night. Tickets are $75 per person and $70 per members. Seating begins promptly at 6 p.m.
On Saturday May 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the museum will open for its 40th season. Opening weekend will include Mother’s Day event which will see a celebration of fashion and chocolate.
