AVON — The Village of Avon now has a new police Chief, Gary Benedict.
Benedict was sworn in as the new interim Chief of Police for the Village of Avon before the Village Board Monday night.
“Thank you so much for the honor,” said Benedict.
Benedict’s wife and two children were present at the meeting.
“He is everything that I expected him to be,” said Chief Jim Noble.
Noble has been the Village of Avon Police Chief since May of 2009. Noble will resign as Avon Police Chief effective June 30th.
“It’s been a great experience, this is a great village,” said Noble.
The Village board thanked Chief Noble for all he has done for the community.
“You were heaven sent to us, and we thank you very much,” said Mayor Freeman.
