GENESEO – The Geneseo Police Department arrested a New Jersey man on felony possession of marijuana after he allegedly sped through the village from Buffalo.
According to a press release from Geneseo Police Chief Eric Osganian, Joshua Friebely, 22, was arrested for felony Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the Third Degree, misdemeanor Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, and Speeding, a violation.
On Oct. 10, Friebely was stopped for allegedly driving 70 mph in a 45 mph zone. Investigating officers allege that Friebely possessed approximately one pound of marijuana, 1.5 grams of concentrated cannabis which is a controlled substance, and $1,700 in cash.
Police say that Friebely was returning to New Jersey from Buffalo when he passed through Geneseo.
Geneseo Town Justice Kathleen Houston arraigned Friebely and ordered him held at the Livingston County Jail on $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
