PERRY – Going to the Dogs Rescue is proud to offer Atalanta, a gorgeous girl with lots of spunk and personality, for adoption.
Atalanta, whose name was inspired by the heart shape on her nose, was born on October 27, 2014 into a less than ideal home situation.
Her owner weaned her and the other pups off their mother weeks ahead of time which resulted in much of the litter becoming malnourished. They also were not being properly examined by a vet or receiving necessary vaccinations/de-wormers.
Thankfully, that is no longer the case and they were surrendered to our rescue via the dog control officer handling the cruelty case. They are now available to be adopted to screened homes.
Her name also has roots in Greek mythology. Atalanta was known throughout all Arcadia as the fleet-footed huntress. She was so fast she decided she would only marry a man that could outrun her, and she found the man who was named Meilanion.
