Memorial services will be held at The War Memorial on Main Street, the Town Park, Temple Hill and St. Mary’s Cemetery, the Depot at Highland Park, and Groveland. Rev. Dr. Nancy Lowmaster will be performing at All Services.
Prayer Services will start at 9:15 A.M. at Temple Hill Cemetery and at 9:30 A.M. at St. Mary’s Cemetery. The V.F.W. Firing Squad and the American Legion members will be taking part in both services.
The Parade procession will form at 10:00 A.M. and proceed out on the Parade Route starting at 10:30 A.M. The Route will start north on Main Street and return to the Civil War Monument by the end of the Parade.
Exercises at the Civil War Monument will include the Presentation of the Wreath, Prayer and the Salute.
Exercises at the Village Park will include the Invocation and the Lord’s Prayer, the National Anthem, General Logan’s Memorial Day Order, the Reading of the Gettysburg Address, the Remarks, the Salute, Taps and the Benediction.
Following the service at the Village Park, will be the reading of “Remember to Say Thank You” read by Father Denis Edward O’Brien, USMC.
And at 12:00 P.M., the Geneseo V.F.W. Firing Squad, Color Guard and all individuals interested, will travel to Groveland Town Hall at Groveland Corners (south of Hunts Corners) to join the Memorial Day Ceremonies conducted by Groveland Veterans at the Soldier’s Memorial there. Included in the service will be Prayer and Remarks.
