NYLON – Friends and family are posting fond memories and condolences to the Facebook page of Marcus Postell, who passed away in the stabbing in York on Nov. 21.
Postell, 21, a Rochester resident, is remembered as a funny, kind and down-to-earth older brother, track athlete and friend.
“I got a visit from a former player last night Darius Smex Walker,” posted Sean Banks. “As we talked we got the sad news and couldn’t believe it. I was lucky enough to have you as a student and player. You were a great person. Your smile, your personality, your unselfishness will be remembered. Marcus Postell.”
“You were always so up front, never wanting to live life with ‘what ifs,'” posted Amy Richele Sharn. “You showed me that I deserved to be treated nothing short of the selfless, kind, love you exemplified, even though it has taken some rough years, self-care, and growing up for me to realize that. I was too young to fully grasp what love was, but you knew. The times we were close were some of the best days of my life; encouraging me to break the rules, laugh uncontrollably, get thrown out of classes, and always be up for hugs. No one gave better hugs than you, Marcus. I never doubted how kind and thoughtful you were. In this life, I wish I would have reminded you of that more often. This is not a time for ‘what ifs’ but rather a time to celebrate who you were, and the love you hoped to share with everyone you met. Today, I hope to love every person as much as you loved, and to not once leave a ‘what if.’ Rest easy, Marcus. You are loved.”
“Rip Marcus Postell you were a great example of a man & never failed to make those around you laugh,” posted Taylor Harris. “Wish we could be dancing around at my 15th birthday party again. You will be greatly missed. Rest easy love”
“I can’t believe this happened, you were the last person this should have happened to,” posted Josh Palces. “You were the nicest and funniest guy on on that floor and I couldn’t have made it through some of those rough days freshman year without you. I wish I kept in better touch with you these past years, rest easy brother. R.I.P. Marcus Postell”
