Friday’s Dateline Features Local Attorneys Van Allen and Putney

LIVINGSTON COUNTY – A Geneseo and Dansville attorney will be featured in Friday’s episode of Dateline.

NBC Dateline was in Geneseo in November 2011 to interview Geneseo attorney Kevin Van Allen and Dansville attorney John Putney whose murder case is receiving national attention.

Both Van Allen and Putney are locally known for their defense work in Livingston County. They talked with Dateline about their experiences as defense counsel in Michael Beard’s high-profile criminal case in Steuben County.

The episode will air at March 24 at 9 p.m. on NBC.

NBC set up the interview in the library of the historic Hartford House, once the home of General James Wadsworth, son of one of Geneseo’s founding fathers.
