Morgan R. Coles, 20, of Batavia has been charged with the theft of over a dozen firearms from The Firing Pin in Bergen, NY. According to the complaint filed by the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, Coles entered the facility through a gable vent accessed from the roof of the building. He was caught on surveillance footage reviewed by a Special Agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
Following a search and seizure on October 3rd, the Sheriff’s Office found that serial numbers were stripped off the weapons which appeared to match the description of the weapons stolen from The Firing Pin.
Along with charges of theft from a federal firearm licensee are one charge of criminal possession of a weapon in the first degree, a Class B felony, and possession of a defaced firearm.
Coles will be arraigned on October 17th of this year before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeremiah J. McCarthy.
