School officials did not elaborate on the statements the student made on social media, except to say the threats were more to the student’s own life and safety, with no threats made to any other students or staff at the Victor buildings. The comments were made on social media before and after the crash.
Following the crash, Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies and paramedics escorted the student to the hospital, where he remained Friday night.
The school had added additional resource officers from the Ontario County Sheriff’s Department, and Superintendent Tim Terranova stressed that there was no threat to any students or staff at the school, and that the issue is being treated as a mental health issue.
