FOOTBALL: Avon Dominates as they Win Sectional Title

SAHLEN’S STADIUM – The Avon Braves outplayed Clyde-Savannah Golden Eagles 46-0 Sunday to win the Class DD Sectional Title.

The Braves are now 6-3 in the season after starting with an 0-3 record.

The Braves, coached by Andy Englert, had a fantastic showing. This win secured the teams 6th Section V Football Title. Scoring for the Braves was Joe Sotak, Zach Loomis, John Ceneviva, and Brandon Mynter.

Avon had 61 total plays, compared to Clyde-Savannah’s 49. The Braves had a stunning 18 first downs in comparison to the Golden Eagles’ 6.

The Braves will travel to Red Jacket Saturday, November 8 for their next match against the now 9-0 Indians. The Class D State Qualifying match will begin at 12 p.m.
