GENESEO — After a thorough investigation by multiple law enforcement agencies, Gary Flemke, 61, has been charged with Second Degree Murder after his wife was discovered dead in Hemlock.
According to Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty, Flemke had been previously charged with tampering of physical evidence after his wife Marcia was reported missing and then her deceased body discovered behind their Hemlock home.
Livingston County District Attorney Greg McCaffrey said, “The case is going directly to the Grand Jury,” and added, “My special thanks go out to the Sheriff’s Office and the NY State Police for all their hard work, and the thorough investigation. When it’s done right, it’s the groundwork for an effective prosecution.”
Gary Flemke was arraigned on the charge in the Town of Livonia Court and remanded to the Livingston County Jail where he is being held without bail. The Sheriff does note that his previous bail was $250,000 cash on the tampering with physical evidence charge and the Judge has now retracted the cash bail and held Flemke with no possibility of bail.
