NYLON – A flash flood warning was issued for much of Western New York, including Livingston County, north to Rochester, and East to Gates on Thursday, extending until 7:15 p.m.
The National Weather Service says that flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.
“Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing torrential rain across the warned area,” said the National Weather Service. “Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.
Some locations that will experience flooding include Geneseo, Rochester, Greece, Irondequoit, Chili, East Rochester, Brighton, and Gates-North Gates.
“Move to higher ground now,” said the Weather Service. “Act quickly to protect your life.”
The Weather Service also warned against driving vehicles during flood conditions.
“Turn around. Don’t drown when encountering flooded roads,” warned the Weather Service. “Most flood
Deaths occur in vehicles.”
