GENESEO— A recent financial assessment stated that the Geneseo Board of Trustees effectively allocates government funds that serve the community.
State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli put into place the Fiscal Stress Monitoring System which measures “the level of fiscal stress under which the State’s local governments are currently operating.”
Geneseo has a score of 6.7%, which indicates the village is neither under nor susceptible to financial stress.
Regarding the Board’s success, Deputy Mayor Sandra Brennan said, “I think the principle is keeping the tax payers protected.”
Mayor Richard Hathaway commented on the Board’s presence in the community, “This board is just so involved and doing so much.”
The Village of Geneseo works to use the taxpayer dollars effectively and purposefully.
