GENESEO – The beautifully restored Riviera Theater on Center Street held its much-anticipated first movie screening in more than 20 years on Valentine’s Day with a screening of “An Affair to Remember.”
Tickets for the remastered, colorized 1957 film staring Cary Grant, Deborah Kerr, and Richard Denning sold out, packing both decks of the house, and owner and developer Don Livingston brought in some extra seating.

“We’ll be playing films this summer, all vintage,” said Livingston. “That’s what used to be shown here, and we’re going to keep it that way.”
Refreshments came courtesy of the Riviera, and there was a brief intermission at the 75 minute mark so guests could stretch and get dessert.
The Riviera will have an official Grand Reopening on Saturday, Feb. 21.
