YORK – Two cars were totaled in an apparently glancing head-on collision that inflicted one passenger with a shoulder and arm injury, and that passenger was cut from their vehicle by firefighters as a precaution.
This was the first of two separate and severe car accident scenes that occurred at the same time and less than half a mile from one another at about 6:30 Tuesday evening.
According to first responders on scene, the vehicles were attempting to pass each other going north and south on Retsof Road and one vehicle strayed from its lane, resulting in a glancing head-on collision.
Only one passenger was injured, but both cars were disabled as a result of the crash.
Firefighters with the York Fire Department responded to both this scene and another severe accident further south at the intersection of Retsof Road and Rte 63 (Genesee Street), where a tractor trailer rear-ended an SUV. Firefighters were assisted on both scenes by Livingston County Sheriff’s Deputies, and ambulance crews.
