AVON — A vicious fire wiped out a farmhouse which was the residence of three families, no one was injured in the blaze.
According to a press release from Livingston County Sheriff John M. York advises that tonight the E911 Center received a call at 7:55 p.m. for a house fire on North Avon Road in the Town of Avon.
East Avon Fire Department along with deputies arrived on scene to find the residence fully engulfed in flames.
The residence is a large farm house built in the late 1890’s which has 3 apartments. All the residents, including the homeowner, were able to get out safely and no one was injured.
The cause appears to be an accident and is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and Livingston County Fire Investigators.
Fire departments assisting at the scene were Avon, Rush, Lima, Caledonia, Geneseo, Hemlock, Honeoye Falls, and Cuylerville. The Red Cross was also on scene to assist.
