The three-day tournament will run from Friday, Jan. 30, to Sunday, Feb. 1, with a $600 cash prize for the 1st place winner.
“The firemen actually run it,” said Bob Santini with the bowling alley. “They put a lot of time into it, and it’s always a great fundraiser for them.”
This will be the third year that the Fire Department holds their tournament in Lieutenant Taylor’s memory.
According to John W. Martin Funeral Home, Lieutenant Taylor passed away at the age of 67 on August 27, 2012. He was a member of the Active Hose Company and Fire Police Lieutenant of the Mount Morris Fire Department, the Western New York Volunteer Firemen’s Association and a social member of the Hally-Allan American Legion Post in Sonyea.
Prior to his retirement in 2010, he was a mail delivery driver for Steve Bartholomew Transportation Services at the Mount Morris Post Office for nearly 5 years.
The tournament is sponsored by the Mount Morris Vets Club, John W. Martin Funeral Home, D’Angelo Holding Co. LLC, Five Star Bank, C & R Food Service, Community Bank, Hally-Allen American Legion Post, and Country Inns and Suites.
