MOUNT MORRIS — A Finders Keepers employee has returned from PyeongChang, South Korea where he captured a Bronze Medal in skiing at the Special Olympics World Winter Games.
Barney Pedraza, 36, won the bronze medal in the Alpine Advanced Slalom competition, a form of downhill skiing that involves a vertical drop measuring 60-200 meters over terrain.
“It felt good. I was very happy. I celebrated pretty good,” Pedraza said proudly.
Pedraza, who lives in Warsaw, blazed down the South Korean mountainside in tie of 1:44.9.
Finders Keepers is part of the Hilltop Industries Arc agency business services program which is a thrift shop theme store in Mount Morris open to the public that provides employment opportunities for those with disabilities.
