The Livingston County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism has published its finalists in four award categories for Business Excellence. The categories are designated for big businesses, with more than 25 employees; small businesses, with fewer than 25 employees; new enterprises, who have been open more than six months but less than two years; and downtown businesses, who operate on a main drag.
To qualify as a nominee, a business has to show steady employment growth, significant service to the community, and make steady efforts to promote quality of life in the county. After a business wins one category, it can’t win again in the same category for five years.
The finalists in each category are as follows:
Large Business of the Year – Pride & Joy Child Care, The Beachcomber, Coast Professionals Inc., The Arc of Livingston-Wyoming, Big Tree Inn, Applebees Neighborhood Bar & Grill, and KidStart
Small Business of the Year – Maddie’s Motor Sports, Hampton Inn, Hilltop Printshop, Valley Propane & Fuels, Finger Lakes Cookie Company, and Fanatics Pub & Pizza
Most Promising Enterprise of the Year – Avon Inn, Mae’s Restaurant, Battle Street Brewery, Geek Chic Floral Boutique, Florence’s Perpetual Estate Sale, and Drew’s Hardware
Downtown Business of the Year – Mill Creek Optical, HoneyGirl Gourmet, Not Dot Shop, Spinnanagans, Market on Main, Charred American Bar + Grill, Touch of Grayce, Twisters Ice Cream Shop
“We had such strong nominations in each category that our committee has decided to honor all as finalists for this year’s business excellence awards,” said Laura Lane, President of the Chamber.
The winners in each category will be determined by board members, and the results will be announced during the week of October 22nd on 13WHAM and Fox Rochester’s Good Day Rochester morning show.
