GENESEO: Livingston County Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Livingston County Jail Inmate on a Felony Assault charge.
The Correctional Services Bureau members in the Jail Division responded to a report of a fight between two inmates on July 14, 2019 at about 7:15 p.m. in the A-pod recreation yard. Deputies responded, secured both subjects and removed them from the area while providing medical care. An investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Jail Division members revealed that during a recreation period two inmates began arguing leading to a physical fight in which one inmate struck the other in the head several times causing injury.
The primary aggressor was identified as 18 year old, Casey J. White, who is being held on Grand Larceny, Possession of Stolen Property and drug charges. Corporal Joshua Daly of the Sheriff’s Office Jail Division arrested White on the charge of Assault 2nd degree (class D Felony).
White was processed by deputies assigned to Central Booking at the Livingston County Jail. The District Attorney’s Office was contacted in regards to bail due to the felony level charge. It was recommended that White be held on this charge without bail.
White was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Jail before Town of Livonia Judge Margaret Graf Linsner. The Judge remanded White back to the custody of the Sheriff without the possibility of bail.
Assisting in the investigation were Corporal Matthew Romanowski, Deputies Gavin Burke, Kyle Gilg, Heather Benjamin, Shannon Campbell and Sarah-Catherine Sergeant.
