Felony Possession of Meth Arrest in Mt. Morris

 

 

Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Mount Morris resident on felony drug charges following a traffic stop.

On April 5th, 2023 at approximately 1:10 pm, Sheriff’s Investigator Shawn Whitford initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle on Al Lorenz Drive in the Town of Mount Morris for a violation of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law.  During the roadside investigation contact was made with the operator, identified as 38 year-old Jessica Dack of Mount Morris. A records check revealed that Dack’s driving privileges in NYS were suspended, and Dack was placed into custody for operating with a suspended license.

During Dack’s arrest, the Investigator located a quantity of methamphetamine on her person. Dack was arrested and charged with felony Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree.

Dack was later turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing. The District Attorney’s Office was contacted in regards to bail due to the felony level charge. It was recommended that Dack be released on an appearance ticket, as the charges do not qualify for bail under NYS Bail Reform.

Dack was subsequently processed and released on an appearance ticket with a future court date provided. Assisting with the investigation for the Sheriff’s Office was Deputy Ross Gerace,
