Fatal Crash Between Dump Truck and Small Sedan

MOUNT MORRIS – A small silver sedan was involved in a fatal head-on collision with a dump truck on Rte. 408 East of Mount Morris at about 2:10 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

According to first responders, the lone occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to news partner 13WHAM, the truck was a privately owned and was carrying salt.

Temperatures hovered in the range of 7 degrees, with a -11 windchill.

Firefighters and ambulance crews with Mount Morris Fire and Ambulance, along with Livingston County EMS, quickly arrived on scene and shut down traffic to the area. Several Deputy Sheriffs and investigators with the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office secured the area for their investigation, along with New York State Police and the Mount Morris Police Department.
