LIVINGSTON COUNTY — An enraged husband has pleaded guilty to murdering his wife in their Livonia home and then burning her body in an attempt to cover it up.
Gary Flemke, 61, admitted in court on Tuesday to shooting his wife, Marcia Flemke, 58, three times in the entrance hallway of their Bald Hill Road home and then burning her body and burying it in a shallow grave in an attempt to hide the hideous crime.
Livingston County District Attorney Greg McCaffrey stated that the plea is based upon an agreed upon sentence of 20 years to life.
Flemke stood silently shackled and wearing a tan prison suit as he pled guilty to murder in the 2nd and tampering with physical evidence.
According to Livingston County Public Defender Marcea Clark Tetamore, Flemke faced a minimum sentence of 15 to life and maximum of 25 to life.
